Orange Co. detention officer accused of antifa bloodlust
Has an Orange County detention officer publicly endorsed the radical lefist "antifa" ideology associated with Charlie Kirk's assassin?
That's the accusation against Detention Corporal Brian D. Edwards, who appears to made such statements online such as "I am antifa," "I will never comply with a fascist regime," and even suggesting that conservatives should be executed, according to social media posts exposed by @MostlyPeacefull on Twitter/X:
I maintain that the biggest mistake the US government has ever made was letting the traitors from the civil war off the hook and allowing them to come back into our country without punishment.
When this is over and the right wing is once again defeated. We will not make that same mistake. There will be war crimes trials and I can't wait to see every single one of them thrown in prison for the rest of their lives.
It may even be time to bring back the guillotine. My name is Brian
I am 37 years old
I am in North Carolina
I am Antifa
And I will never comply with a fascist regime.— Bdedwards87 (@bdedwards87.bsky.social) September 19, 2025
According to his LinkedIn, Edwards started as a correction officer at the NC Department of Public Safety in 2019 before transitioning to the Orange County Sheriff's Office in 2022. Edwards has been profiled on the OCSO Facebook page where he was praised as a "hard worker," as well as being commended for his "attention to detail and work ethic" upon his promotion from Detention Officer to Detention Corporal earlier this year.
Charlie Kirk remembered across the Triangle

Hundreds turn out in Raleigh to remember Charlie Kirk - North State Journal
As the country continues to reel from the assassination of Charlie Kirk on a Utah campus this week, hundreds of mourners gathered in at least four locations for what appear to be independently organized candlelight vigils across the Triangle in Raleigh, Pittsboro, Wake Forest, and Clayton.
What each of the vigils also appear to have in common is a focus, not on Kirk's political impact, but on his Christian faith with the various events including prayer, hymns, testimony, the preaching of the gospel.
Although many are understandably concerned about the possibility of a copycat attack or other political violence, the organized leftists extremists appear to be generally leaving these events.

However, at a meeting Monday night, members of the Durham City Council expressed support for the city's police chief, Patrice Andrews, who attracted criticism for a post accusing Kirk of having "disguised himself as a Christian." As socialist councilmember Nate Baker said, Andres "holds values consistent with the values of our community."
In a similar vein, Wake County high school teacher Idris Abdul-Aziz who posted "rot in hell" in reference to Kirk's association will face no consequences, unlike many across the country, though the two Republican members of the Wake County school board decried such language in their comments at Tuesday's board meeting.
Kirk's spirit of challenging leftist ideology on the campuses it dominates continues in efforts like the Fearless Tour, organized in the wake of his murder, which visited the UNC-Chapel Hill campus on Friday to debate the student body on topics such as "guns, illegal immigration and abortion."

The Durham County government has dropped its usual $10k+ financial sponsorship of the annual Durham Pride events in September, citing the possibility of losing federal funding under President Trump's anti-DEI executive orders.
Durham County currently receives over $100 million in federal aid out of its $1 billion budget, including for various "public health" and welfare programs, which the "LGBTQ community" benefits from, according to Commissioner Nida Allam.
Wake Democrats share "ICE Watch" training by radical pro-illegal immigration organization
The Instagram account of the Wake County Democratic Party was identified this week as sharing a flyer for "ICE Watch" trainings including in Wake and Johnston counties by the radical "Siembra NC" organization, which opposes the enforcement of even the most broadly agreed upon immigration laws, like deporting convicted criminals.
The "ICE Watch" trainings equip volunteers to crowdsource and verify information about active Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations with the purpose of hampering the enforcement of immigration laws and/or giving potential illegal targets time to escape.

The legal saga which began with the ambush and murder of Wake County Sheriff's Deputy Ned Byrd in August 2022 is nearly over, with guilty pleas entered by the two Mexican illegal alien brothers who were charged with the murder.
Although Arturo and Alder Alfonso Marin-Sotelo Marin-Sotelo (both residents of Wake County) were tracked down and arrested days after the murder, Alder Alfonso escaped the Virginia jail at which he was being held and fled to Mexico before being reapprehended. (Their sister, Adriana Marin-Sotelo, has plead guilty to the jailbreak and was sentenced to 10 months incarceration).
The criminal case against the brothers was delayed while the American government attempted to obtain Alder Alfonso's extradition, which did not occur until President Trump took office and obtained the handover of 29 defendants facing serious charges. However, as part of the extradition negotiations, Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman did agree to take the death penalty off the table.
Alder Alfonso, who shot Byrd once in the chest and three times in the back of the head, plead guilty to first degree murder on Tuesday and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Arturo, who was present for the murder and fled with his younger brother, was allowed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of accessory after the fact, and was sentenced to 7-10 years in prison.
A third brother, Rolando Marin-Sotelo, is still facing a charge of accessory after the fact for allegedly disposing of the truck his brothers were driving.
