Duke researchers release case study on transgender "woman" given hormone treatment to "breastfeed" 4-month-old grandchild
Duke University researchers help transgender woman, 50, breastfeed her GRANDCHILD using experimental hormone drugs so she could feel what it's like to be a real mom - but critics call it 'frankly disturbing' - Daily Mail

A article released this week in the Breastfeeding Research journal, authored by six Duke researchers, described a "case study" of a 50-year-old man (transgender identifying) who was given a experimental treatment in order to fulfil his desire to "breastfeed" his infant grandchild.
According to the study, "her [sic] primary motivation for inducing lactation was to experience the bond from breastfeeding that she [sic] had not been able to experience with her [sic] own five children." (The subject of the study had only began to "medically transition" in 2018, with hormone therapy and castration).
By increasing the dose of hormones he was taking an introducing a regular dose of metoclopramide, the subject was able to secrete a small amount of "milk" which he was able to "breastfeed" to the four-month-old infant.
As you can see from the links above, this story has been covered internationally, but I don't believe I've seen any NC media or politicians talking about it yet. I plan to release a more in-depth article early next week with some more details (I obtained and read the source material) as well as relevant context (including the history of the Duke gender clinic for children) that y'all will be able to share.
Durham high school teacher draws controversy with Palestinian flag in classroom
Kayla Thompson was named Pirate Hero of the Month. She hasn’t been to work since. - The Pirates' Hook
According to an article by student reporters last Friday, a teacher at Riverside High (in Durham) "has not returned" after the school administration asked her to remove a Palestinian flag from her classroom.
According to The Pirates' Hook, math teacher Kayla Thompson drew public ire after a photo of her with a "Pirate Hero of the Month" award from the PTA was shared on the school's social media accounts on Sunday, March 17. The photo, which showed a Palestinian flag in the background, was criticized as not "creating a safe environment for Jewish students".
School administration removed the photos from social media, and asked Thompson to remove the flag. After leaving with the flag on Tuesday, March 19, Thompson had "not returned" to the classroom as of the article's publication on Friday, March 22. (It's not clear whether this was of her own volition).
Several student's responded by holding a walk-out protest:
It's not clear whether Thompson's absence was voluntary, or whether there has been any update since. (This week, March 25-29, was the spring break).
Steve Baker reprimanded over pretrial release conditions
Misunderstanding Led to Judge’s Order Against Jan. 6 Journalist, Attorney Says - Epoch Times
Federal judge orders Blaze News' Steve Baker to 'comply' with release conditions; Baker says he has - The Blaze
Steve Baker, the NC man charged for covering J6 as an independent journalist who I keep talking about, has been ordered by his DC judge to comply with his pretrial release conditions after the DC Probation and Pretrial Services office accused him of a violation.
Baker and his attorney attribute this to a misunderstanding, and miscommunication between the NC pretrial service officer overseeing him and the DC office.
Baker's pretrial release conditions currently include a restriction of his 2A rights. This is among the standard pretrial release conditions the DOJ asks for in regards to January 6th defendants. In my case, I was able to file a motion to get the restriction on possessing firearms removed for both my pretrial conditions, as well as in the probationary sentence I received after conviction.
Here's the full statement Baker provided to the Blaze:
"To say this is all 'new to me' is an understatement. My attorneys tell me this kind of tedium and 'nothing burgers' are to be expected as I go through this process. In this instance, I'm trying to accept that it's nothing more than the left hand of the D.C. pretrial services officer not knowing what the right hand of my N.C. pretrial services officer has already taken care of. But it doesn’t seem like it. While the complaint I received Friday lists how I am allegedly not in compliance with some of my pretrial release conditions, it also states my initial meeting with my N.C. pretrial services officer already is scheduled, and everything will be handled — per agreement — at that time. D.C. even acknowledged that I have not yet been home since my self-surrender and release, so how could I have possibly been out of compliance with regard to firearms at my home while I'm still on the road and away from my home? My N.C. pretrial services officer already arranged these things to be dealt with upon my return to N.C.
"Then, this morning, I got an order from the judge to 'comply'?
"Respectfully, to the court: Each item already has been arranged, per the court's order, in an amicable and agreed-upon timeline with my pretrial services officer according to my travel schedule and date of return to my residence in N.C. The other items are also already being taken care of in a reasonable exchange between my attorney and the prosecutor. The fact is, I am in full compliance and intend to remain so. My N.C. pretrial services officer thus far has been a pleasure to work with and has given me no indication that I need to handle things differently. I do believe that if the court had been made fully aware of my compliance and the pending and agreed-upon arrangements with my return to N.C., that public order to 'comply' would have been unnecessary."
