Illegals on the lookout for ICE raids in Garner, Raleigh
Illegal aliens and their sympathizers are using apps such as TikTok to document and warn of immigration enforcement activity, with captions like
"By 55 and 40 in Raleigh, NC. They warned that immigration would arrive in a few minutes 06/05/2025" (translated) or
"Superintendent warns us that immigration will arrive in half an hour, Raleigh NC, and the people fleeing with their things" (translated)

Users also shared images of what they say was an ICE raid in Garner at/in the Green Spring Valley neighborhood on Thursday morning:

The videos they are sharing also show how they are using other means of communication, such as a map or a Zello channel called Punteros de Hielo (translation: ice pointers):
Approximate translation:
"Unfortunately those things are happening right now here in North Carolina to be more precise in Garner North Carolina they arrived at some trailers and showed up and took some people to that
There are people, well, they can go out on the street because obviously they do have papers
They have told us to download the Zello, it is an application like a walkie talkie where you will be able to listen in real time, the people who are going to go out into the streets and will be monitoring where they are to give the exact location once you have downloaded this application, please, I ask you to look for this one
This channel, the channel is called Punteros de Hielo (ice pointer), this is only for all the people of North Carolina and its surroundings, please, you can come and apparently join this group, come and join
That can also be done by all the people from, I don't know, other states, only that the people who are taking the risk are the legal people, here they are citizens
If you do not have legal status, please do not risk going out because right now North Carolina is very hot
I come back and repeat if you can download the Zello application, all countrymen, all people, all race from North Carolina to please communicate and alert other people and of course I also invite other people from other states who do have permanent legal status here and can do this favor and help their community
May God bless you and take good care of yourselves
Wake Co. school assigns graphic description of rape, committee rejects book challenge
Wake rejects book challenge. Why ‘The Kite Runner’ will continue to be read. - N&O
Wake County's Central Instructional Materials Committee voted 9-1 on Wednesday to reject a parental challenge over a book with graphic descriptions of rape, which is assigned to high school sophomores in Wake County in an English 2 course.
The book in question, The Kite Runner, was described in a review by BookLooks as containing "explicit sexual activities including sexual assault and battery; prostitution involving minors and adults; explicit violence; and mild profanity."
Although the degenerate practice of pederastic "bacha bazi" may be a real practice in Afghanistan, where the novel is set, a certified pediatric nurse with a student at Panther Creek High School in Cary who was assigned this book filed a challenge based on the books suitability for minors: "Children should not have to read about rape as part of their curriculum...as an adult, I don’t even read or watch things with rape in it to protect my mental health."
According to the Pavement Education Project, The Kite Runner has been documented in school libraries in Durham, Franklin, Johnston, Harnett, Lee, Orange, Wake, and Chapel Hill-Carrboro school districts.
CHCCS replaces DEI hire with DEI hire

District Veteran Rodney Trice Hired as Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools’ New Superintendent - Chapelboro.com
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools has selected equity-focused Dr. Rodney Trice to lead the district in place of outgoing Superintendent Dr. Nyah Hamlett. Hamlett herself had been selected at least in part for the role due to her "focus on equity," and ended up announcing earlier this year she was leaving the district for an a role as a chief equity and development officer at a district in Maryland.
However, Hamlett's term at CHCCS was marked by controversy, including the revelation that she had plagiarized in her doctoral dissertation which escalated into a lawsuit alleging retaliation against a student and his father who were critical over her and the school administration. (The lawsuit was mutually dismissed with prejudice last month.)
CHCCS appears to have the same priority in the selection of Trice, who currently serves the district as the Deputy Superintendent for Teaching & Learning, Systemic Equity and Engagement, and whose previous educational roles include Assistant Superintendent for Equity Affairs at the Wake County Public School System.
In a 2019 article titled "Equity Work Should Start from the Top," Trice explained how "equity leaders" conceal their true goals in order to be more palatable to skeptics: "people who may feel uncomfortable digging into race theory may be open to talking about LGBTQ+ issues, discipline disproportionality or class assignments." However, in the same piece, Trice made his full-throated support of DEI clear:
We believe that equity work is non-negotiable and must be part of the DNA of any school or district. It doesn’t matter whether we call it equity; diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI); or another title. As leaders, we must all commit to this work. We must face the reality that we are in an ongoing fight to disrupt inequity wherever it exists.
Shootout outside Sanford bar leaves six injured

Did you hear about the mass shooting in Sanford?
The anti-gun media and politicians will seize on pretty much anything no matter how specious to push their agenda, such as Governor Josh Stein falsely claiming this week that "guns are the leading cause of death for children in North Carolina."
However, we can expect some mass shootings to generally "fly under the radar," such as an incident at Schooly's Bar and Billiards at ~1:55 am Saturday morning, which resulted in six non-fatal injuries.
According to the Sanford Police, "an altercation started outside the bar that resulted in gunfire being exchanged between several individuals."
This shooting will not exactly be "unreported," as one can find stories on the local stations, but it will certainly not attract anywhere close to the wall-to-wall and even national coverage of incidents like the Hedingham active shooter in Raleigh in 2022, or the reported UNC campus active shooter in 2023.
It's not just that shootings resulting in deaths are more newsworthy, the fear generated by an active shooting in which one imagines that one or one's child could be the target creates a much more fertile ground to argue for political change. (Most citizens do not imagine they or their child getting involved in a 2 am shootout.)
However, there is another factor as well, which I will dare to mention even though I know it may offend some readers, which is explained by Sailer's Law of Mass Shootings: "if there are more killed than wounded, then the shooter is likely not black; if there are more wounded than killed, then the shooter is likely black."
Although anti-gunners seem to be generally fine with demonizing white men and white gun owners, they are much less comfortable coming to terms with the disproportionate amount of violence by black perpetrators. (According to the NC State Bureau of Investigation, 67.8% of murder/nonnegligent homicide arrests, 51.6% of aggravated assault arrests, 45.7% non-aggravated assault, and 68.6% of weapons possessions arrests were of blacks, who make up only 22.1% of the state's population.)
Sean Dimitris Matthews Jr., 26, has been charged with Assault With Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Discharging a Weapon Into an Occupied Property, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon, and is being held without bond. Urbano Garcia-Sanchez, 26, one of the individuals who was shot in the exchange, has been charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and is being held under a $100,000 bond.
