Duke Medical School claims 'timeliness,' 'individualism' is part of 'White supremacy culture' - Fox News
Color Us United (CUU) has set their sights on Duke University and Duke Health in their mission to push back against "divisive" race and gender ideologies.
CUU's petition highlights how Duke has "integrated its divisive political ideology into hiring and training". Duke's pledge against racism includes the claim that "racism is a public health crisis", despite the acknowledgement from administration that there is no hard science backing the claim (and, the doctor who pushed back against Duke along these lines was let go not too long after making this admission public).
Earlier this year, an internal Duke DEI lecture was leaked in which Duke surgical resident Vignesh Raman expressed his preference for treating "non-white" and non-conservative patients and revealed how the university was "abandoning all metrics and screens" with a goal of retaining "diverse residents".
Duke is also extremely progressive along gender ideology; the Duke Center for Child and Adolescent Gender Care was treating "transgender patients as young as two" as early as 2016, as highlighted by Education First Alliance last year.
More recently, Duke researchers published an academic "case report" documenting an experimental hormone treatment given to a 50-year-old transgender-identifying man in order to allow him to "breastfeed" his grandchild, resulting in the "unanticipated benefit" of "female gender affirmation":
Wake GOP Chairman resigns
The Wake GOP has announced the resignation yesterday of Steve Bergstrom as the party's chairman. Bergstrom will be replaced by 1st Vice Chair Karyn Mulligan.
Bergstrom and Mulligan were elected to their positions at the Wake GOP convention 16 months ago on a "Unite Wake" slate. However, as Mulligan alluded to her video announcement, Bergstrom's tenure of leadership has not resulted in the desired unity.
In one of his very first acts as chairman, Bergstrom and his slate implemented new rules for affiliated clubs to follow if they wished to keep their seats on the party's Executive Committee. The president of the East Wake Republican Club responded with a "Our Declaration of Independence from Tyranny" announcing their disaffiliation from the party.
More recently, less than a week before the Wake GOP Convention in March, Bergstrom announced that two-thirds of the Executive Committee were being unilaterally removed, including club presidents and region chairs. Although Bergstrom cited an opinion issued by the NC GOP Plan of Organization Committee as the basis for this decision, it was nonetheless extremely controversial.
The results of the convention were mixed, with both Bergstrom's camp and his opponents failing to achieve a clear victory (as I reported at the time):
Wake GOP convention recap:
ACT 1: attempt to restore the removed members of the executive committee (unsuccessful)
ACT 2: rally-type speeches
ACT 3: ̶p̶r̶o̶p̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶n̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶o̶r̶g̶a̶n̶i̶z̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶ motion to adjourn passes on tallied vote
IMO: All in all, neither "side" scored a major victory
Wake GOP Chairman Steve Bergstrom was unable to follow through on his removal of regional chairs/vice-chairs and club presidents from the Executive Committee by making these changes permanent in the county Plan of Organization
Bergstrom's opponents were unable to get the removed Executive Committee members restored, or modify the PO to make it unequivocally consistent with the state plan while maintaining the same makeup

My understanding is that Mulligan has been in lockstep with Bergstrom while in her role as vice-chair; she will undoubtedly face an uphill battle in her effort to mend fences and heal wounds, as she indicates in her announcement.
Trump sign arsonist loses bicycle to homeowner in civil settlement
James D. White Jr, the Raleigh cyclist who set fire to his neighbor's "Trump Won" sign on two early morning rides in August 2023 has forfeited his bicycle as part of a civil settlement, according to the sign's owner, John Kane.
White previously plead guilty to two misdemeanors in relation to the attacks, and was sentenced to serve 12 months probation and 80 hours of community service in April.
Kane provided the following statement to This Week in the Triangle:
Jim White is a coward, much like an unmasked Antifa punk. He boldly committed arson at my home under the cover of darkness, but when confronted by the RPD detective at his residence, he reportedly cried, having nowhere to hide. We are living in an anarcho-tyranny. Until Lady Liberty's blindfold is restored, conservatives who are victimized by Marxist scumbags like Jim White must leverage civil litigation to publicly humiliate and impose financial pain.
