Trans murder cultists arrested in Maryland forest
ANDY NGO REPORTS: Fugitive 'trans terror' leader and two members of the 'Ziz' group arrested in Maryland - Post Millennial
Cultlike Zizians group's alleged leader, another member arrested: Police - ABC11
Three of the "Zizian" cultists who fled Chatham County after the most recent murder associated with the group in Vermont have been apprehended in Maryland, including the eponymous leader Jack "Ziz" LaSota.
Also arrested was Michelle "Jamie" Zajko, whose parents were murdered in a double homicide also associated with the group. According to police, Zajko was also the registered owner of the firearm used by one of the Zizians in the Vermont shootout which left Border Patrol Agent David Maland dead, as well as another member of the cult.
The trio was found and arrested by police in rural western Maryland after a call by a property owner who was suspicious when they asked for permission to camp on his property for a month.
The police found the the Zizians in two box trucks which match the description of those parked in front of the Airbnb units the members had rented in the neighborhood south of Chapel Hill, as well as multiple firearms.
LaSota, Zajko, and the third member arrested, Daniel Blank, were denied release after a bail hearing which involved LaSota complaining about "starv[ing] to death" due to a lack of vegan dietary options and Zajko being "misgendered" as a man by her public defender (Zajko identifies as non-binary.)

In addition to the information presented in my previous article on the subject below, it has since come to my attention that one of the Zizians, Amir Dayyan "Emma Nava" Borhanian, grew up in Hillsborough and attended UNC-Greensboro, providing a possible link as to how the group ended up in our state (Borhanian was fatally shot in self-defense during the group's 2022 attack on their California landlord):

DEI tug-of-war in Wake County Schools stirs tensions among board, parents - Carolina Journal
Sam Hershey, a Democrat on the Wake County Board of Education, has apologized for language he used in a previous public comment in support of DEI which attracted national attention over the claim that it was "mediocre white men" who had been "mediocre white men who [had] been hired based on their skin color" for 250, and accused the opponents of DEI as being motivated by racism.
In his apology at Tuesday's board meeting, Hershey acknowledged that he "could have made the same points...by being more nuanced and without coming across as demeaning":
Shortly thereafter, fellow Democrat board member Lynn Edmonds used her comment period to respond to speakers concerned that the district's commitment to DEI would lose it federal dollars, claiming that the goal of Trump's recent executive orders was to "destroy Democracy."
Edmonds also cautioned her fellow DEI supporters that "the speed and reckless approach [of the executive orders] is a strategy meant to exhaust us and make us feel hopeless," instead encouraging her fellow supporters of "kindness, truth, and justice" to donate to specific LGBTQ+ and anti-Trump organizations:

Taxpayer Funded Activism, A Look at NIH Funding at UNC - Carolina Review
A recent article by UNC-Chapel Hill's conservative school paper has highlighted some of the DEI and activist grants currently being funded by the federal government, which the Trump administration is seeking to reign in.
In just the fiscal year 2024, the highlighted grants awarded to UNC-CH include $321,084 to increase the diversity of scientists in the field of genomics, between $37,329 and $641,136 for six studies related to HIV/AIDS and or sex-related topics in African countries, and a whopping $3,855,746 on a project to reduce smoking-related "health disparities," including specifically studying how to get "Black and LGB smokers" to stop consuming menthol cigarettes.
Anti-Trumpers return to Raleigh for president's day
Thousands gather in Raleigh for protests over NC Supreme Court race, Trump and Musk - N&O
Hundreds rally in downtown Raleigh against Judge Jefferson Griffin - CBS17
Monday featured two left-wing demonstrations in Raleigh; the first, held to protest the election challenges filed by Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin in the NC Supreme Court race, attracted hundreds of participants.
The state politics related protest was outshone by an unrelated demonstration held to protest the Trump administration's agenda as a part of a nationwide follow-up to the 50501 protests held earlier this month.
Many of the protest's messages specifically referenced Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, such as multiple "Impeach President Elon," as well as "Bad DOGE" or "Nobody Elected Musk." A number of signs also had "anti-fascist" messages, including "Make Nazis Bad Again," "Make Fascists Dead Again," and a sign featuring the communist hammer-and-sickle reading "Remember Who Beat the Fascists Last Time:"
