State Board of Election dismisses complaints over Wake BoE illegally counting dead voters
NC elections board dismisses complaints accusing local officials of misconduct - N&O
In a party line vote, the Democrat majority on the North Carolina State Board of Elections voted on party lines to dismiss complaints against the Democrats on the Wake County Board of Elections for willfully counting the ballots of voters who had died before election day, in violation of the state board's guidance on the law.
The Wake BoE Democrats had voted to count the votes of three out of forty-five voters who had died between casting their vote and election day, despite guidance to the contrary: "As a reminder, the qualifications for all voters, including early and absentee voters, are judged as of Election Day. G.S. 163-55, -59." (NC State Board of Elections Numbered Memo 2022-05)
In comments to media at the time, the board members made it clear that they were knowingly violating state election law, because they thought it was "out of date" or wanted it "changed".
In contrast, the state board had no problem removing the two Republican Surry County Board of Election members in 2023 based on a complaint that they had declined to certify the 2022 election over election integrity concerns.
Pardon, dismissals of January 6th cases
GRANTING PARDONS AND COMMUTATION OF SENTENCES FOR CERTAIN OFFENSES RELATING TO THE EVENTS AT OR NEAR THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL ON JANUARY 6, 2021 - Press Release
As one of his first actions once in office, President Donald Trump issued an executive order "grant[ing] a full, complete and unconditional pardon to all other individuals convicted of offenses related to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021."
This includes January 6th defendants such as myself, as well as the subject of our interview published this week:
In addition, the Trump Department of Justice has filed to drop the open cases against January 6th defendants, including Steve Baker, a formerly independent investigative journalist now with Blaze News who had been charged in relation to his coverage of the Capitol Riot:
"Thot Patrol" ICE lookalike sparks new terror
In light of the Trump administrations interest in vigorously enforcing immigration law by deporting those present illegally, a Durham resident with a pickup truck wrapped in a parody of an ICE vehicle is attracting renewed attention. (Based on a doxxed instagram profile, the driver is a 22-year-old non-white male.)

Hispanic grocery store chain "Compare Foods" has issued a statement on the spotting of the vehicle near their Durham facilities, referring to the "harmful 'prank'" as "deeply irresponsible" with "clear malicious intent," and indicating that a report has been filed with the police.

Durham County is listed as a sanctuary jurisdiction by Center for Immigration Studies, but a recent NC law was passed requiring cooperation with ICE detainers. However, local leftists are already organizing to protect the illegal immigrants, such as with an "ICE Watch Training" organized by Siembra NC:
Wake GOP announces change to pre-convention process
In an email this week, the Wake GOP leadership announced that this year, the precinct meetings to elect delegates to the convention would be held one hour before the convention starts, instead of the previous practice of holding separate meetings in the weeks or months before:
In the spirit of unity and progress, the Wake County Republican Party Board has made the decision to hold all precinct meetings one hour prior to the County Convention on Wednesday, March 5th, at the Gov. Kerr Scott Building, at the State Fairgrounds. We will gavel in at 7:00 PM for the precinct meetings, with the County Convention set to begin promptly at 8:00 PM. After yesterday’s monumental day of strength and unity, we are excited to have the entire county come together, in a shared vision for a brighter future. The convention website will go live later this week on our website.
Given the as yet unresolved plan of organization changes relating to the unilateral removal of the majority of the Wake GOP executive committee immediately before last year's Wake GOP convention, attendees of this years convention can expect to strap in for a long night.
The only slate of leadership candidates for the Wake GOP announced so far is One Wake, led by Sandy Joiner, which has already attracted the endorsement of numerous GOP figures including state representatives Mike Schietzelt and Erin Paré in a challenge to the current Wake GOP leadership.
so who nominates the Election Board members?
