Wake GOP potentially losing HQ due to financial situation
According to an email sent out by Wake GOP Chairman Steve Bergstrom to the Wake GOP Board, the county party is in danger of losing the office space currently rented for use as the party’s headquarters. According to the email, the party “would not be able to pay rent much longer” at the location in West Raleigh, which opened in June of 2022.
Bergstrom also stated that the party has “a large office space and use of the conference room at Cardinal GPS while we look for another office”. Cardinal GPS is political consulting firm which supplied the controversial electronic voting system at this year’s NC GOP convention. Karyn Mulligan, the 1st Vice Chair of the Wake GOP is reportedly the mother of Aimee Mulligan, who is described as a “Managing Director, Political Consultant at CardinalGPS” on her LinkedIn profile.

The Wake County DA’s office announced that charges will not be pursued against a State Bureau of Investigation officer who shot at killed a man outside a sporting goods store in Apex. Although the SBI usually handles the investigation into officer-involved shootings, the Apex Police Department investigated this case to avoid any conflict of interest.
According to the investigation, SBI agent Denzel Ward was shopping at the store on the way home from training when he confronted 18-year-old Dayve Rafael-Sanchez as Rafael-Sanchez and his alleged partner-in-crime, Siomara Sibrian, were attempting to flee from the store with a stolen box of ammunition.
When Ward attempted to stop the pair from leaving in their vehicle, Rafael-Sanchez grabbed a rifle from the floor of the vehicles front seat and pointed it at Ward. Ward then shot Rafael-Sanchez three times, killing him.
Police recovered a loaded Sauer SIGM 400 rifle from the scene.
Sibrian has been charged with two counts of felony larceny and possession of a stolen firearm.

This week has seen local demonstrations by supporters of both Israel and Palestine after last weekend’s deadly attacks.
The rallies in support of Palestine have been organized by groups explicitly established for the purpose, as well as radical leftist groups which equate the situation to the “decolonization” they wish to see occur here in America.
The flyer for one such rally held at UNC contained a paraglider, which has become a symbol after Hamas used paragliders in an attack on a music festival which reportedly killed 260, with many more injured or taken captive:
At the UNC demonstration, one of the pro-Israel counter-protesters, Jewish professor Evyatar Marienberg, reportedly had liquid thrown on him and was escorted away from the pro-Palestine side by the UNC Police.
Leftists and pro-Palestine groups will be holding another rally in Moore Square tomorrow.
Municipal Election Results
DeDreanna Freeman, a Durham City Council Member we’ve reported on here was been eliminated in the primary election for Durham Mayor which was held this week, receiving 14% of the votes.
Freeman who was accused of swearing at and hitting two of her fellow council members after a contentions city council meeting in which an ally was accused of extorting a developer (she has since been “cleared”). Freeman also participated in sending a letter to Wikipedia asking the online encyclopedia to unmask the identity of the editor who included reporting on Freeman’s unflattering behavior.
The mayoral election will continue with the this week’s top two vote getters: State Senator Mike Woodard, and City Council Member Leonardo Williams. Williams is one of the city council members Freeman was accused of assaulting.
